San Simeon Campout
[ March 28 - 30 ]
I would like to thank Bob and Sandy Joyner for puting on one heck of a
campout this last weekend. BJ had come in the nite before with his good
friend (and good cook) Bob Lee and had everything setup for us when we got
there on Friday. Doris & I traveled with Mary Jo (Sister) and our friend Sue
along with Dannette & Rex Woodruff. After pitching camp we set around a nice
campfire and got to talk and relax .
About this time Uncle Ray told us about one of our members haveing a
accident on the way to this campout. Tom Anderson had his trike in a trailer
behind his truck when a wind gust caught the trailer and blew it off the
road where it came disconnected from the truck and rolled over a couple of
times. Tom and his truck are ok, but have not heard how well the trike
faired as of this writing.
Write Uncle Ray for more info.
This was the first time most of us had meet long time members Jim & Mary
Tinlin along with guest Sue Springfield and Bob Lee. Kevin & Karen
Gilpatrick were kind enoff to bring along and keep an eye on that old fart
Fred Andrews . Guess we are getting better at not scareing off new members
cause Bill Owens looked like he had a good time.
After coffee Saturday morning, BJ took us on a ride thru Morrow Bay then
inland on some real nice roads. We got to stop and see Sandy at work, (poor
thing is haveing to work 12 hour shifts) and she gave us a tour of the CHP
911 Call Center. She walked us through what happens when a call comes in and
ansewered all of our questions. We even got a goodie bag with some neat
stuff. Have no idea where we went on the ride cept stopping at a place
called Pozo.
O' yah, we stopped for lunch at a little place that had good iced
tea...thats all I'm gonna say guys.
Think we got back around 3:30. Bob Lee had been busy while we were gone
cause he was cooking up a storm. He even got BJ cooking that nite. [ we got
pic's to prove it ] Bob Lee cooked us tri-tips, BBQ chicken, Good Beans, a
big salad and garlic bread. We ate like King and Queens. A very good time
was had by all.
Can't forget to tell you all that the weather was as good as it gets !
Don't know what else to say, except thank you Bob & Sandy for a great time.
